Warm beer starts in the cellar, not at the tap
A cellar cooler is the plant that keeps a pub or bar in business. If the cellar climbs, kegs fob, cask goes off, and the manager spends the night pouring waste. Restaurants with a drinks cellar, hotels with function bars, and members’ clubs have the same problem. Cellar cooler repair is commercial refrigeration, not a DIY thermostat job. Most cellar coolers are a wall unit or a split with the condenser in a yard or at high level. They fail because the condenser is blocked with dust and hop debris, the evaporator is iced, the drain is blocked, the fan has seized, or the room heat load has grown after a new keg fridge was added. We measure cellar temperature at the kegs, not at the door, and we look at how the room is packed. A cooler that is buried behind stacked empties cannot work.

We quote before we start. If the cooler is undersized for a cellar that was extended, we will say so rather than fit another fan and hope. If a clean, a drain and a fan motor will get you through the weekend, that is the job. Keep the cellar door shut until we arrive unless you need to move stock for safety.
